Flag Placement Ceremony

On the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks committed on September 11, 2001, Pennsauken Township will be hosting several events to remember those who lost their lives and reflect on the sacrifices of those who continue to work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

An annual tradition in Pennsauken is the placement of 2,997 American flags, one for each individual who lost their life during the attacks, throughout the town’s 9/11 Memorial, located at the corner of Merchantville Ave. and Rt. 130.
Volunteers are needed to help distribute the flags on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 11:59 p.m. Those wishing to participate are asked to arrive by 11:45 p.m. at the latest.

The flags will be removed by volunteers on Sunday, Sept. 11, beginning at 11:45 p.m.
