A Statement From Chief Philip P. Olivo Of The Pennsauken Township Police Department Regarding Last Night's Summer Kick Off
Published by Township_Web_Admin on Sun, 06/09/2024 - 09:46A statement from Chief Philip P. Olivo of the Pennsauken Township Police Department regarding last night's Summer Kick Off.
On June 8, 2024, the Township of Pennsauken hosted the annual Summer Kickoff event at the Soccer Complex. During the event, multiple large crowds started to form, outside of the community members who were trying to enjoy this event. These crowds started to become unruly, which prompted the event to be shut down, before the situation deteriorated further.
Police Officers throughout Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester County, responded to provide mutual aid to assist Pennsauken Police Officers in the clearing out of the unruly crowds. Six arrests were made, four adults and two juveniles. I would like to thank all of our brave men and women law enforcement officers who were at this event, and all of the law enforcement agencies for sending mutual aid. The Pennsauken Officers and Mutual Aid Officers worked together and did an excellent job in keeping the community safe.
This type of unruly behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated in Pennsauken Township. The following adults were arrested:
- India Allen (19 years old) of Pennsauken Township. Allen was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Disperse.
- Yamilet Meina (18 years old) of Camden City. Meina was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Disperse.
- Damien Green (20 years old) of Pennsauken Township. Green was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failure to Disperse, and Resisting Arrest.
- Derek Berry (18 years old) of Pennsauken Township. Berry was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Failure to Disperse.
