Public Meeting on Energy Aggregation
T&M Associates, a leading consulting, engineering and environmental services provider, will be hosting a series of public meetings this month about initiating a government energy aggregation program in Pennsauken to reduce electric bills for Township residents.
Under the proposed program, T&M will aggregate the energy needs of Pennsauken’s 36,000 residents, then seek bids on this pool from more than 30 state-licensed energy suppliers. The suppliers bid their lowest rates in exchange for this potentially large volume of business. The government energy aggregation program aims to save residents an amount equal to one to one and a half months of energy costs per year, according to the firm.
There is no cost to the Township for T&M’s services, and Pennsauken is not obligated to accept any bids. If initiated, residents may opt out of the program at any time.
The public meetings will be held at the Phifer Middle School, 8201 Park Ave., Pennsauken, on Tuesday, May 27 and Thursday, May 29. If needed, a third meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 3. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. Members of T&M Associates will be on hand to answer any and all questions from residents. The meetings will also be recorded for Pennsauken Television and will run on Channel 19 throughout the month of June.
