Pennsauken Township Committee and our Parks and Recreation Department have made the decision to postpone Thursday’s Senior Citizen Appreciation Day at the Pennsauken Municipal Pool. The ongoing poor air quality issues from the Canadian wildfires prevent us from safely holding this event.

The new date for this event is Thursday, June 15, from noon to 4:00 p.m., at the Municipal Pool.

Pennsauken Township’s Summer Kick Off celebration will be held on Saturday, June 10, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located at Westfield and Bethel avenues.

The 2023 New Jersey Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, June 6. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

For those voting by mail, ballots were mailed out to eligible residents beginning in April. In addition to using the U.S. Mail, voters can also place their competed ballots in the drop box located in the Township’s municipal complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., by 8:00 p.m. on June 6.

Trick or Treating in Pennsauken will occur from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022.

The Pennsauken Township Police Department invites the local community to its first-evert Trunk or Treat event on Thursday, Oct. 20, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., 2400 Bethel Ave. Trick or Treaters will be able to safely get candy and other snacks from vehicles decorated for Halloween.

Pennsauken Township, in association with the Pennsauken Firefighters Association, will host its Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 15. This annual event, held from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex on Westfield Ave., brings the Township community together with a family-friendly atmosphere.

Because the rain forecast throughout the entire day tomorrow, the Fall Clean-Up scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 1, has been cancelled. A makeup date is yet to be determined.

Pennsauken Car And Bike Show

Sunday, September 18, 2022 • 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pennsauken’s annual Car and Bike Show will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hundreds of classic cars and bikes will be on display along part of the “Maple Mile,” starting at Pinsetter Bar and Bowl, the co-sponsor of the event, located at 7111 Maple Ave., and extending towards Union Ave.

Each year, American flags are placed throughout Pennsauken’s 9/11 Memorial, located at the corner of Merchantville Ave. and Rt. 130, across the street from the Township’s Municipal Building and the Pennsauken Free Public Library.

ORDINANCES

Pennsauken’s first responders are holding a special event during National Night Out, Tuesday, Aug. 2, an annual community-building campaign that is designed to make neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.

Pennsauken Township cuts the ribbon to reopen its popular skate park, which has undergone extensive renovations. The 14,000 square foot park features a variety of elements that appeal to skaters of various levels, including rails, ramps, a bowl, half pipe, and more. After the ceremonial ribbon cutting, the skating community is invited to drop in and enjoy the park, with prizes given out for the best tricks.

Pennsauken Township is celebrating our great senior citizens with a special, FREE event!

Fun, food, and fireworks will be once again enjoyed by residents at Pennsauken Township’s Summer Kick Off celebration. This year’s event is held on Saturday, June 11, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located at Westfield and Bethel avenues.

On Sunday, May 29, local veterans will join Pennsauken Township officials for a special Memorial Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at Liberty Park, located at the corner of Westfield and Merchantville avenues. This service is slated to begin around noon. The public is invited to attend.

After a one-year hiatus, Pennsauken families can once again grab their baskets for the Township’s annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Sponsored by the Pennsauken Youth Action Committee, this year’s egg hunt will take place on Saturday, April 9, 10:00 a.m., at the Walt Nicgorski Sports Complex, located at Powell and Collins avenues. The Easter Egg Hunt is open to children up to age 9.

Pennsauken has partnered with the New Jersey Department of Health to provide residents easy access to COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots.

A mobile vaccination event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Court Building, 2400 Bethel Ave. This event is free, and no appointment is necessary.

As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the terror attacks, Pennsauken will be holding a special “Day of Remembrance” ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the town’s 9/11 Memorial. Held at 9:11 a.m., the ceremony will include remarks from first responders and public officials; a patriotic performance from Pennsauken High School’s Apache Marching Band; the posting of the colors by the Air Force JROTC; and more.

Camden County, in partnership with Touch New Jersey, is hosting a series of food distribution events for those in need. One food distribution will be held at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, 1601 Bethel Ave., on Friday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m.

Pennsauken Township and the town’s Department of Public Works are sponsoring a combination food truck and touch-a-truck event on Wednesday, June 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Held at the Pennsauken Township Municipal Complex, 5605 N. Crescent Blvd., several food trucks are slated to attend. In addition, children of all ages will have a hands-on opportunity to explore various vehicles, including dump trucks, fire engines, and more. Little ones can also enjoy the playground adjacent to the Pennsauken Free Public Library.

On Sunday, May 26, at noon, Pennsauken Township will hold a special ceremony with VFW Post 1270, AMVETs Post 101, and American Legion F.W. Grigg Post 68 at Liberty Park, located on the corner of Merchantville and Westfield avenues. The public is invited to attend.

OTHER MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONIES

In 2016, residents of Pennsauken enjoyed electric rates lower than that of Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G), thanks to a cost-saving energy aggregation program put in place by the Township. When that program ended in 2017, the Township continued to look for an opportunity to restart the popular initiative. With the help of Concord Energy Services of Voorhees, N.J., the Pennsauken Township Energy Aggregation Program will start up again beginning in July.

Great music, good food, and the return of fireworks will be the hallmarks of Pennsauken’s 2019 Summer Kickoff Bash. Held from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the Pennsauken Community Recreation Complex, located at the corner of Westfield and Bethel avenues, the entire community is invited to take part in this special celebration.

Pennsauken’s second annual Nature Enthusiast Day will be held on Saturday, May 4, 10:00 a.m. to noon, at Tippin’s Pond, 421 Cove Rd.
